Zoom Nebulae Attempts

Look. They can't all be good nights. I went out last night with the goal of trying deeper zooms on a couple messier objects. I definitely had focus issues but I'll still post the photos here. It's part of the process! I'll be trying again for these targets. Both images taken with a Canon EOS 70D with a Canon EF 70-200mm 1:2.8 L IS USM lens.

Image 1: This is looking further up in the sky than any of my previous images. I was targeting the Eagle Nebula (M16) and the Omega Nebula (M17, the Swan Nebula). M16 is in the top right of this image; M17 is in the lower middle. I am happy to have captured some of the nebula gasses of M17, and hopefully I can get a better shot of this. [Stack of 20 2.5 second exposures]

Image 2: Again, not the best focus but I'm a bit happier with this shot. Near the center of this image is the Lagoon Nebula (M8), with the Trifid Nebula (M20) and M21 above it. I'm pleased to have captured some of the gas cloud here as well. [Stack of 30 2.5 second exposures]
